Kevin Collins

Commercial Director

I was born in Harare, Zimbabwe in 1962 and was fortunate to grow up in this beautiful country with its abundant wildlife, spectacular scenery and the incredible people who like me were lucky enough to call it home.

My schooling was done under the watchful eye of the Jesuits culminating at St George’s College in 1980. I always felt that my future lay in business and I followed up my schooling with a 3 year stint at the University of Natal, South Africa where I studied for a Bachelor of Commerce degree.

On leaving university I decided to move to the UK. I have been here for the last 40 years. The first 20 were spent working for some of the biggest brewing companies in the UK Where I honed my marketing skills before setting up two successful businesses, one in consultancy and the other in travel.

I am married, live in Salisbury Wiltshire and have 3 daughters, 2 grandchildren and an English Springer Spaniel.

When my younger brother died during Covid that gave a different meaning to life so I decided to retire to focus on writing a book, travelling and taking on mentoring roles for budding entrepreneurs.

I met Fraser Flight at my Godson’s wedding and over a glass of wine we were instantly connected by having gone to the same school but during the conversation he mentioned that his dream was to sail solo nonstop around the world. I felt that with the right direction and support Fraser had all the attributes to complete an undertaking that most of us mere mortals would find beyond us. I offered to help and give my time pro bono to the project.

My role is to bring structure to the venture, to assist with raising the necessary funds and to ensure that all monies raised are used in line with our twin objectives of getting Fraser safely around the world and then to assist oversee the distribution of funds to the chosen charities that are close to Fraser’s heart in line with our finding charter.
