Kara Freeman

Kara is from Pembrokeshire, Wales—a peninsula renowned for its 240 miles of spectacular coastal national park. At university, she earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry with Physics and Forensics, followed by a second degree in Nursing, all while being part of a competitive rowing team. After graduating, Kara moved to Australia for more agreeable climate however as passionate Divemaster with a diverse background in hospitality, she continued searching for a career that utilized all her skills. A weekend aboard White Caviar in the Whitsundays introduced her to the world of yachting, where she has thrived for nearly a decade working on some of the world’s most prestigious vessels, including the 143m Sailing Yacht A.

Kara met Fraser in 2021 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, when she took a job onboard the same vessel. Sharing the same adventurous spirit and love for life on the water, Fraser’s passion for sailing became readily apparent and Kara decided to learn more. Completing her Day Skipper course in Gibraltar, she jokes that her true motivation was to ensure she could rescue him if he ever fell overboard!

Fraser has always been ambitious and driven, with one dream shining above the rest: to become the first Zimbabwean to single-handedly circumnavigate the globe. However this dream is more than just setting records; it’s about honouring his deep connection to the ocean and pushing his own limits. His determination and focus have been a source of admiration for Kara, who feels incredibly proud to stand by his side and support him as he pursues this monumental goal. Together, they’ve built a relationship rooted in adventure, mutual respect and a shared commitment to chasing their dreams.

As such Kara is strongly committed to helping him reach his goal, fully embracing the challenges ahead; knowing that their shared journey strengthens their bond.

Kara will be hands on managing the marketing efforts surrounding the Flight Around the World venture.
